Manufactured / Modular Home Permit Requirements

 

NOTE:

Manufactured Home must be Wind Zone II / Modular 150 MPH or greater - There should be a label located in the home reflecting this information, if not contact our office and speak with an inspector for further instructions

Before a Manufactured or Modular Home is moved, delivered and/or installed in the city you must have a building permit.

Permits are to be placed in a readily accessible location on the property

1.    GIS/911Address must be posted

2.    Zoning Permit and other required documentation for location proposed

3.    Waste Water Authorization to Construct - Brunswick County Environmental Health Department - 910-253-2250 

4.    Legal documentation from dealer, title, or purchase agreement (Take this information to tax office when obtaining pin card)

5.    Modular Homes require a complete set of plans (150 MPH or greater), surety bond, or General Contractors name/license number.

6.    Contractor Information- Application for each trade permit must be applied for separately by the license holder/company.

7.   If not purchasing from a dealer a tax moving permit from the tax office will be needed and local Jurisdiction will need the current owner and/or previous owner(s) of the home. If the home is located in another  County, proof of up-to-date tax records from that location shall be provided to the local tax office and jurisdiction proposed Home is being transitioned to. A moving permit shall be required and obtained from the local tax office, if moved by someone other than the dealer.
