Boiling Spring Lakes Land Use Plan
Project Description
Land use plans are a requirement of the Coastal Area Management Act. It collaborates with other existing plans and polices to provide a snapshot of the jurisdiction and provides long-range growth techniques. Growth patterns of future land uses within the municipalities are identified. The land use plan serves as a guideline to the community's vision, not a zoning document. Balancing the needs of varying land uses in a way that protects the economic and environmental assets of a community is a core principal of land use plans.
Project Benefits
Promotes public health, safety, and general welfare by providing efficiency and economy in the process of growth.
Results
A guided document that provides land development/use analysis, strategic planning initiatives, and establishes policies on future land use. Land use plans contain a combination of maps, guidelines and general development policies.
