Officials with North Carolina Emergency Management arrived in Brunswick County this week and are currently doing damage assessments throughout our area. FEMA representatives are not in our area at this time. The city will provide status updates as the assessment process continues and when FEMA may arrive as information becomes available.
If anyone approaches you claiming to be from North Carolina Emergency Management or another local, state, or federal agency, be certain to ask for their credentials to ensure they are legitimate. These agencies will never ask you to provide your personal or financial information in exchange for assistance.
To report information on a potential scam, contact the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department at 910-363-0011 (main non-emergency line).
Property owners that experienced damages are encouraged to take pictures and notes for possible state or federal assistance opportunities should they become available for our area.
